PNP MEDIA RELEASE ON NEW SECURITY MINISTER'S STATEMENT

The People’s National Party is extremely concerned, at suggestions by the newly appointed Minister of National Security, the Hon Derrick Smith, as reported on TVJ News last night, Monday 17th September 2007. In speaking to the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Lucius Thomas, the National Security Minister requested that he, Commissioner Thomas, should “investigate the effect of the tone” of the President of the People’s National Party in her address to the recent P.N.P. Annual Conference. See the Press Releases section (http://www.pnpjamaica.org/content/category/7/23/113/) of the PNP website www.pnpjamaica.com for the full statement from Donald Buchanan, General Secretary of the PNP.

The forces of Governor Eyre are slowly revealing their true colours.
The people of Jamaica are getting an early preview of the Governing Party's agenda.
MrIT Manager, please post the full text of the Comrade Leader's address to the 69th annual party conference.
First we see attempts at muzzling the press ,
Second we see attempts to muzzle the voice of the Opposition.
The JLP has, in the past attempted to use the cloak of immunity afforded by the Partiament to slander and libel the characters of hardworking , productive and patriotic public servants. Is this the blueprint and roadmap been crafted?
The people of Jamaica will never and should never allow and reversal of the progress over these 18.5 years.

Oh please Portia has yet to recognize defeat in the election and continues to make insinuations that the election was stolen and it was 1 big conspiracy against the PNP. I agree with Mr. Smith to take every precaution necessary cause mama look like she want start gas riots part 2 with her chat.
By the way you people need to change Buchanan he is not helping your cause he reminds me too much of Saddam's information minister. I hope he isn't advising her cause then we really in trouble.

    C.A.P,
Your party must remember that this is Jamaica not Chile. This "Pinoche" will never be tolerated.
Your party has started on a shaky footing.
Wata Bway grumbling about the trinity'
    Traditionalist grumbling about portfolio assignments,
Young Turks been assigned to watch the traditionalists,
Oh, that "Cheneyian" structure at the Office of the PM.It will be very interesting to see the enforcement tactics.
Therefore , focus on your party's woos instead spreading rumours abot PNP disunity.
The PNP is a democratic institution with the capacity to handle and resolve all party issues.Thats our tradition.
If you want advice to help at Belmont Road then go to the UWI.

Tell that to Portia when she kicked the press out of parliament when they caught her doodling she also made several threats to members of the press about pressing charges so they should be careful of what they report.

You are obviously a blind partisan prick with nothing better to do than to spread propaganda and make a mountain out of every molehill you see.

Which part of my statement did you see anything about pnp disuntiy or is that just something in the back of your mind you felt like expressing?

By the way I have BSc from Utech that should put me right on par with your leader but then again she would haffi come hard to test me in a debate :-).

C.A.P your JLP party members making the mountain out of the mole hill.
I understand that these are inconvenient truths you find unpalatable.
In time , the country will appreciate what your former leader meant that your party members lacked the capacity to deal with complex matters.
It may not be too late for them to light their candles , sing their sankies and get some tutoring by UWI

    Contrive and Propagandize(C.A.P),
Why don't you focus energies on helping your party leader out of his tenuous hold on Jamaica House.
By next week the margins will be even narrower.
Things are falling apart, the center stucture is not holding. The rumblings are getting louder and louder.Traditionalist want RESPECT and latitude to do their runnings.
It is obvious you are at the fringes of your party or you would have known what is happening.
Not to worry , you will see and hear very shortly.Just trying to prevent you from having a mental breakdown.
    Can't say I didn't warn you....

Ok oh great voice of truth. A loyal servant of the mighty PNP the party that is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent.
The party that achieved so much for Jamaica in their short tenure of 18 years.
The ruling party that has done so much to uplift their most loyal supporters of their garrison constituencies.
Providing these loyalist with opportunity and education so as not take on a career of crime.
To live in clean communities and not ones with stagnant water running through.
The country has grown so much with growth in excess of 10% or was with 1% or maybe somewhere between maybe you can tell me the exact figure voice of truth.

Not to mention our leading industry and source of foreign exchange remittances I think the call it.

I am not saying that JLP is necessarily the answer to all our problems or that they will answer all our problems but I will take the chance cause we need a change I would have supported Portia had she been that tool for change but she say she naah change nuh course so the course changed her.
The majority of Jamaicans want a change and want hope for a brighter future and were not satisfied with the status quo that is not propaganda that's a fact that's why your leader approval rating was 70% when she took over leadership of the party and has now fallen well below 40% and will continue to fall every time she opens her mouth.

    Contrive and Propagandize,
405000 doesn't equate to the majority of Jamaicans of voting age.
Your "Franconian" leader now has the chance to "succeed" where all others have "failed".
Very shortly you will be hearing about him exerting "discipline" on his disgruntled cabinet colleagues.
You took your chance like the other 404999.
Very shortly , when the pot bottom drop out , you may get another chance to choose.
In the last 18 1/2 you got 4 chances.
At the rate Franco is going nothing is certain.

    VICE of truth,

Having read your spiel, I read you saying that there are grumblings in the JLP. You can talk about grumblings, while assault and battery was being carried out at your recent pnp conference. Grumbling is better than criminal behavior, and acts of violence.

Also, If people were always motivated and eager to follow instructions, managers wouldn't be necessary. Mr. Golding took on the job, not because it is easy, but because it is hard.

The PNP needs to start doing the hard things, instead of always taking the easy way out. Its easy to "let off" and "run wid it", its hard to attack corruption and reign in waste.

Bruce will do the hard work and travel the narrow road, despite grumbling. If his tenure turns out to be short because of the PNP's undemocratic means, he would have accomplished more meaningful and hard things within 1 year, than the PNP did in its previous 18 years.

He who seeks for only vanity
    And no love for humanity
    Shall fade away
Though some believe in diamonds and pearl
And feel like they're on top of the world,
They shall fade away, hear what I say.
The man who worships silver and gold
Shall surely, surely, surely lose his own soul,
    Then fade away.
The one who's always acting smart
And don't carry no love in his heart
    Shall fade away.
God is here and there and everywhere
And he knows when you play the game unfair,
So people beware, or else you fade away!
Hey! Beware, or dare you fade away.
You've gotta fade, gotta fade, gotta fade now
God is here and there and everywhere
And his eyes, his eyes are watching you,
You're gonna fade away, yeah, yeah,
You're goin' to fade, fade, fade, fade away...
    Fade away... Yeah, yeah... !

This is not tuffgong, tuffgong must be giving you sleepless nights. tell me, do you see him when you look at dinner?

Ask the peter phillips camp what assault and battery occurred at the the pnp conference.

These "legal" challenges based on allegations of dual citizenship is all about winning a seat through the courts that you lost at the polls. You are trying to rob the electorate of their right to choose. THE PUBLIC WAS QUITE AWARE OF YOUR ALLEGATIONS, yet They did not choose dabdoub and they did not choose senior-smith. They chose the alleged "dual-citizens".

Assuming the court decides against the JLP winners do you support a by-election or that the seats be handed to the losing PNP candidates.

No need to answer, THE PNP DOESN'T WANT BY-ELECTIONS BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT THE PUBLIC TO CHOOSE. THEY ARE UNDEMOCRATIC.

    Captain of the North,
Come next week the margins will be 31-29
The privy council will adjudicate the others as I guess that is where it is going.
Thereafter, your Prime Minister can ask the GG to dissolve parliament and call fresh elections.
I was at the conference and there were no incidence ala BUNGOMAN in 1991.
Ask the President of Families Against State Terrorism(FAST).
We always conduct leadership changes in an orderly , democratic fashion.
We have done so in the past and we will do it in the future if and when the need arises.
I am just praying for "the shipwrecked Comrade".He is consumed with hatred and bitterness which only leads to self distruction.Nothing more, nothing less

    Voice of LIE DEM LIE.
You keep on talking about chance and victory as if its a football game.Whether JLP lost the last 3 4 or 10 elections is irelevant what I am concerned about is right now and where we go from here?
The JLP's infighting and disorganisation and stagnant leadership was what has kept them out of power very simular to the problems PNP is facing today.
I have heard many staunch PNP say to me that Portia nuh ready yet and her irresponsible "TOO CLOSE TO CALL!!" speech in which she called the jamaican electorate criminals ("I WILL NOT ALLOW CRIMINALS TO DECIDE THE FAITH OF THIS COUNTRY") sealed the deal for a lot of people.
You need to wake up Voice of Lie Dem Lie.Its time for us to move on from the election and start building a better Jamaica cut this partisan crap.

Your party controls all the levers of state. The complete administration is sworn in.Nothing is stopping your party from governing.
The PNP is not facing any infighting. The PNP has had a seemless leadership change on all occasions and that trend will continue in the future. At this point there is no vacancy or challenge to the leader. We do not adopt the "Brutusian" practice of your party in effecting leadership changes.

The JLP leader has remainded me of a certain man who wanted power in the JFF so bad that every thing the Captain did he said that was noting, He tried to make all the achaivements of the captain look like nothing He also said he would have taken the football team to a new level. At that time Jamaica was rated at 27 in the world. He got the mandate, and now what is our ratings? and the JFF is owing over 84 million dollars. and once more its the captain to the rescue. with all of the promises of the JLP. LETS SEE WHERE WE GO FROM HERE.

let yee that is without sin cast the first stone. The JlP also has the option of disqualifying your candidates with undeclared government contracts.

Think about the consequences of your actions before you make them.

PNP retaking government through undemocratic means will only leave to civil unrest and an ungovernable country.

You lost the election GET OVER IT!! rebuild and change course you may stand a better chance later down.

Go and clean out the thieves, the crooks the dead weights and propagandist from your party.

As much as you may think you know the future as the great Dr. Phinn thought he knew.A new election may produce a more decisive result for the JLP.

Remember there are far more marginal seats on the PNP side than the JLP side these seats can still go either way.

Give the JLP their chance to govern you had your chance for the pass 18 years. You may be in opposition but you will be the most influential and powerful opposition Jamaica has ever seen.

Stop thinking about you broken pride and what's good for the pnp start thinking about Jamaica and how you can help in building it.

If after 5 years or at minimum 3 years a new election is called let the people of Jamaica decide if they like the change or want to back to the PNP.

Comrades.....Clean unno house get quality commentators to comment on the issues facing Jamaicans and don’t continue to condone and entertain idiots such as Heather Robinson, Roper, et al.

Fool-fool Heather Robinson writing in the Gleaner on Saturday outlined a number of so-called PNP Legacies that Jamaicans have inherited from the corrupt regime of the last 18 years.

Highways, I suppose Cells Phones, the lackey Press, etc.
What she failed to mention was high crime rates, human rights abuse, prostitution, bad roads, missing persons, hotels falling down trillion + debts, horrendous transport system, drugs exportation....all of which were banner headlines the print and electronic media over the past 5 days or so.

When Eddie Blinds retired his own personal achievements and that of past Labour Governments could have filled every pages of a regular Sunday Gleaner and then some, I never here that idiot giving one good word about any JLP programme and/or achievement..

Roper is another Joker, now he wants the PNP to be concerned about the environment, to hold Town Hall meetings and to engage Jamaicans…..LOL!
Who remembers his scandalous manipulation of the Portmore Toll issue and his weekly invectives issued in his, yellow-journalism Paper, against the local Environmentalists?

I have most if not all of the of not all of the articles written by those tribalists columnistzs, soh nobaddy can, as mamma P, seh “tek mi aawwn”.

Look seh-Fae Ellington is nothing but hypocritical tribalist masquerading as a journalist, in the same mode as Petty Anne Blaine and others of that ilk.
She really thought she had done some kind of investigative Journalistic piece. She claimed to be professional but at the end of the said piece, she said look unno noh play wid peple life yah.....No who was playing with people's lives, mamma p of Bruce. If she was a professional writing a well-researched piece why not let is stand on it own, why the innuendo.

As for the videos in question, I am glad she recognizes the power the internet and the ability to beam events as they happen.

Right now I am concerned with the youth on trial for murder if this video is going to aid in his defense it must be released to his defense team.

As for who and who it destroys...good riddance. I already know @ least two persons on that video.
I was banned for talking about Peta King on Go-Loco before he was executed. Mi done know all the nastiness on PGay regime, soh I would not be surprised.

Photographer threatened at People's National Party's (PNP) meeting
    published: Monday | September 24, 2007

A member of Portia Simpson Miller's security team yesterday threatened a journalist at the Negril Golf Club, Westmoreland, where a meeting of the People's National Party's (PNP) National Executive Council was being held.

The policeman accused a Gleaner photographer of attempting to zoom in on a confidential document which was in the hands of Dr. D.K. Duncan, who is fighting in the courts to win the Eastern Hanover seat by way of a magisterial recount.

The photographer denied attempting to photograph the document, but the policeman, in the presence of members of the PNP hierarchy, including Mrs. Simpson Miller, threatened to throw out the photographer and left little to the imagination, implying that if the incident had taken place on the road, it could have got uglier.

"Yuh lucky seh a nuh outta road yuh deh, else mi woudda mash yuh up!" the policeman said.

He repeated this later when he again confronted the photographer, who this time, was speaking with the PNP communications officer, Christopher Castriota.

This time, PNP chairman Robert Pickersgill and General Secretary Donald Buchanan and other journalists were in earshot range. Another man, who joined the policeman in the verbal assault, promised to smash the camera if the photographer attempted to take any more pictures.

Mr. Buchanan attempted to quell the argument by insisting the photographer shut up, even while the policeman continued his tirade.

One woman in a group which made known its feelings as to the position it took towards journalists, said, "Mi hate dem more dan even Labourite."

DB&G not yet cleared of 'front running' allegations
    Wednesday, September 26, 2007

Dehring, Bunting and Golding (DB&G) was not able to dismiss claims that it was involved in front running - a contravention of Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) rules - in July and will have to face the JSE Disciplinary Committee in one month's time to go over evidence on the matter, according to Business Observer sources.

Steven Bruce-Miller, a client of the brokerage firm, had made a claim to the stock exchange that DB&G had traded ahead of his order in July last year, to which the JSE's Conduct Review Committee had set up a disciplinary committee, headed by Hillary Phillips, QC, to hear the matter.

Front running, as it is called, is a noted offence in the JSE rule book, which defines the action as occurring whenever a JSE member trades ahead of a client order in the same or related market for the purpose of profiting from, or otherwise taking advantage of knowledge of undisclosed material information concerning an imminent transaction.

Bruce-Miller's claim was that DB&G purchased 542,000 units of Jamaica Money Market Brokers (JMMB) shares, on a day that 605,000 units were traded, before purchasing 50,000 shares of his 200,000-share order on
    the day.

"They bought 50,000 units for me at $12 at the highest price in the market after they had gobbled up all the shares that were available at lower prices for their
    own portfolio," said Bruce-Miller.

However, towards the end of July, DB&G's chief operating officer, Gary Sinclair, had told the Caribbean Business Report "unequivocally that there is no foundation to his (Bruce Miller's) claim".

But during the last hearing, held on July 20, 2007, the disciplinary committee determined that John Vassell's, QC representing DB&G, arguments in his application on a preliminary issue were not sufficient to have the committee dismiss the offence of front running as part of the proceedings against the firm.

"The ruling of the panel in relation to the application is that we are not prepared to dismiss from the complaint at this time any allegation", was what Phillips said during the hearing, according to a source. "So, we will continue as how we are comprised. Mr Senior-Smith that would bring us then to the evidence."

Oswest Senior-Smith had appeared on behalf of Bruce-Miller to respond to submissions made on June 11, 2007 by Vassell, who had asked the panel to rule that the material that was sent by the JSE did not disclose any offence of front running.

JSE general manager Marlene Street-Forrest told the Business Observer that she would not discuss the matter currently before the disciplinary committee, and in keeping with the JSE rules the matter would continue to be heard in private with documents and statements barred from public dissemination.

"The committee will notify the public of any decision taken," was all that she would offer on the matter.
"we will be having another hearing on the matter in October."
The next hearing date is scheduled for October 24, 2007.

i cant believe what i am reading on the cite. most of you pepole are illmannered, stupid arrogant imps. you people who call yourselves CAP are no better than the person you claim to hate. why don't you ust leave the party without another glance. it would be better off without 'things' like you. i am disgusted at your attitudes. Portia has not been perfect (lot less than perfect) but she has her merits. this is not a time for divisiveness but a time for party unity and solidarity. leave portia alone if you cannot give her words of encouragement. by the way democracy is maintained when the PNP uses the constitution to gain power. so if they want to pursue the dual citizenship thing then it is incumbent on them to do so. the laws of this land upholds their behaviour. until the law changes, it must be adhered to. once again most of you here disgust me and since me cum yah cum see unnu, mi will leave! POWER to PORTIA and the PNP - the party i will represent some day and lead into victory at the polls even more times than PJ.P.S. unnu a go tired fi see portia face whrn she is sworn back in as PM within the next five years.

The only thing that I am trying to do is give you comrades some perspective but from the looks of things it seems yall will be spending a long time in the political wilderness. Anyways I wish Mr. Golding the best and I am going to wait and see what the Labourites have to offer.
So far so good change is never easy but sometimes it must happen for the betterment of the nation.
As for PNP till he dead and ppl who claim to be labourites till the die people like you are an insult to democracy you people will follow you party in the pits of hell and back and back again.
I hope that 1 day we can both look at our political parties and be loyal to Jamaica and choose the party what's best for Jamaica and not the one we born and grow as.

What are you reading on this CITE?
We overstand that among lackey Comrades it Love Portia Or Die.
Well some of us are not going to be shackled by that dictum, especially taking in consideration the bloody history of Portia Simpleton's rise and hold on power in her area. We realize that she could not and would not be the unifying force we need to move the Party and Jamaica forward.

Collectively the Leadership of the Party:
    Comrade Peter Philistine
    Comrade Dr. Clueless
    Comrade Portia Simpleton-Miller
    Comrade Maxine Sleepy Max Henry-Wilson
    Comrade Phyllis FailBad
[Now add Comrade Ronnie Fakes to the list.]
Are all MHRs for Constituencies where death and destruction is the order of the day for Comrades @ the hands of Comrades and the State.

The question in my mind is Comrades, is this what we have been fighting for?
For Comrades to live and die like dogs, whilst the failed leadership remain @ the helm till thy kingdom come?

    Comments from today's Gleaner:
Just after 2:00 p.m., shortly after Parliament was adjourned, Mr. Franklin and Mr. Nelson confronted Hayles, in the lobby outside the Chamber.

The Gleaner heard expletives and threats being hurled at a retreating Mr. Hayles.

Opposition Leader Portia Simpson Miller, who stumbled upon the incident, which was taking place in the presence of other ministers of government and senators, demanded an end to the confrontation.

Both Mr. Nelson and Mr. Franklin later told The Gleaner that they felt Mr. Hayles was out of order and that he disrespected Mr. Golding.

However, Mr. Hayles told The Gleaner that not shaking hands with Mr. Golding was an oversight.

"It was not intentional. It was an oversight on my part," said Mr. Hayles, who claimed he has been receiving threats even before the official opening of Parliament began at 11:00 a.m. yesterday.

"... the threats that the two ministers came over and threatened me [with], I am going to be making a formal report to the police," Mr. Hayles said.

He added: "The Labour Party needs to be a more mature party if they intend to govern the country.

Meanwhile, Mr. Hayles was not the only person who refused to be cordial with the opposing party. JLP MPs Andrew Gallimore, Clive Mullings and Othneil Lawrence did not shake hands with Mrs. Simpson Miller or other members of the PNP after taking the oath of office.

Tarn Peralto was on his way back to his seat but turned back to shake Mrs. Simpson Miller's hand only after being encouraged by Mr. Franklin to do so. For her part, Mrs. Simpson Miller greeted the first-time MP with a handshake and not with the usual hug and kiss with which she greeted others on the day.

The PNP has not responded in the way you and your party treat your former supporters.
People can judge from your utterances.

    How iz Dat?

Comrade Simpleton almost failed to greet the Speaker and was directed to him, whereupon she did, I did not see that mentioned.

I take Comrade Hyales @ his word that he made a mistake. The fast pace and the arrangements were not entirely conducive to meeting and greeting and we already know that the Portia-Simpleton's Administration was not known for observing any Protocols.

I accept that Comrade Hayles, might have been nervous, but the fault is due to the lack of preparation vis-à-vis Protocols that has become the Hallmark of the Portia National Party.

Further this guy has a history of not exaCTLY being on good terms with the truth, so the rest of his allegations and the strength of the same are something I would take with a spoonful if salt...(of course to my friends on the Rock it would seem cruel of I to recommend more salt after the 18 years of sucking salt through wooden spoon courtesy of PJoke and Wiggy).

Opposition Leader names shadow Cabinet members
    Friday, 28 September 2007
First time parliamentarian Lisa Hanna and former banker Peter Bunting have been assigned spokesperson responsibilities by Opposition Leader Portia Simpson Miller.

Miss Hanna takes on youth entertainment and culture and Mr. Bunting Industry and Commerce.

The slate of Opposition Spokespersons were announced amidst seemingly re-energised party functionaries including many who were sworn in as MPs and Senators on Thursday.

There were little surprises in the line up of spokespersons with some new comers getting big roles.

The team, including deputy spokespersons, described by Mrs. Simpson Miller as a good blend of experience and youth.

The Opposition Leader kept Development, Gender and Sports.

She has named two deputies in the handling of this portfolio, Members of Parliament, Sharon Hay Webster and Ian Hayles.

As is expected, Dr. Omar Davies retains Finance, Planning and the Public Service.

Dr. Davies' deputy is Fitz Jackson.

The National Security portfolio says with Dr. Peter Phillips with Dr. Donald Rhodd appointed his deputy.

Agriculture, Rural Development and Land stays with Roger Clarke, his deputy is Noel Arscott.

Housing, Infrastructure and Transport goes to Robert Pickersgill, who is assisted by Dr. Patrick Harris.

Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade stays with Anthony Hylton, and Dr. Morais Guy his deputy.

Mining and Energy remains with Phillip Paulwell, Michael Peart is Mr. Paulwell's deputy.

Labour and Social Security stays with Derrick Kellier and the deputy is Natalie Neita Headly.

Education, Science and Technology is with Mrs. Maxine Henry Wilson, she will be assisted by Ronald Thwaites.

Health, Environment and Global Warming goes to Dr. Fenton Ferguson while Dr. Wykeham McNeil takes control of Tourism, Entertainment and Culture.

    Dean Peart keeps Local Government.

Mr. Bunting's deputy on Industry and Commerce is Kern Spencer.

    Yu see what Burke seh?

Bruce is assuming the role of DADDY Manley, many policy similarities as well as tone. SOMEBODY needed to carry on that good work....especially as the PNP has long abandoned that mission.

Sorry to shoot down every Comrade Commentator, but having read Comrade Burke and listen to him over the years all I can say is read his garbage and one or two times expect to read one line that makes sense.

Most so-called Columnists, Commentators and Political Analysts (for want of a better term) on the Rock, writes from one position that all good thing that has ever happen politically in Jamaica flows from the PNP starting from Menlie-The-Elder and that anything the JLP or any other successful political entity does, it is a mere copying of or acknowledging something that was started by the PNP.
So in the 80s when Eddie Blinds did not run out the Comrades after his victory and continued with the intention of refining and improving upon, many of the re-branded St. Mikes half-baked plans it was called Seaga-Socialism.

Now Jamaicans have been led to believe that the only citizens of Jamaica, who ever studied, examined, embraced or contemplated Marxism were Comrades in and out of the PNP, but allied with the PNP. Suddenly since Bruce's ascent to the Office of Prime Minister, talking heads have found it necessary to recast him as a student and now successor to the Great One the real Socialist in Green Shirt.
Of course they forgot that Daddy Menlie did not tolerate Socialist in his Party.

Yes, I am “nat changing no course” from Bruce and Co. right now.
I don't like some of his early moves, but so many things when wrong over the past 18 years that it would be hard for any leader to do and say the right things @ the outset.

To say a kind word about Comrade Leader Portia-X Bin Laden, her Shadow Team shows you just how limited her choices were when she got the Mandate from the Delegates (assuming of course that she wanted good for Jamaica), when you see failures like Dr. Clueless, Dr. Philistine and Comrade Sleepy Maxine. still on the side in critical position(s) you realize just what catastrophe Bruce & Co. saved us from.

Like you I hope my bet doan buss and im turn out to be just another Cult Of Personality IMan/IOoman first Leader, but we will see what we shall see!
