Just another bad mind labour talk, you can know a comment coming from a labourrite. sista p has hearn that possition from forbes, after careful investigation. but as is the case anything good is put down by you JLP suporters and leadership. if you are a true Jamaican you should be happy that a Jamaican woman holds such a position. but as we all know you labourrites dont like progress.

Should the results of yesterday's election be decided in favour of the JLP, the people of Jamaica would again be fooled into chamging their core belief in a Party that has cared for them since it was formed. This will mark a major setback in the march towards a more just society, a major body blow for our nation

Trust me, I know greatness and Portia is not it. She is much like the squallid hellhole that I have heard her constituency is. Is that greatness? She can't fix one constituency and you want to present her with a whole country.
Check me back when she learns she enrolls in some speech and decorum classes. Check me back when the rest of your government aren't thiefing people's money anymore.

"If I am appointed by the Almighty to be Prime Minister, then all of you Christians must give support to the appointment of the Lord. If it is not done, the whip will not be drawn against me, because I am going to be carrying out His will."

Sista is incapable of doing the job of Prime Minister though i am a comrade i will be with holding my vote. Peter Phillips should have won.

I need to respond to your comment. First of all you could not be a comrade. Comrades don't behave like that. I supported Cde. Phillips too, but this is not about personalities, it is about the PNP winning again.
I am quite happy with how the Prime Minister and Party Leader on how she has been carrying out her duties. I was equally as proud when she spoke on the Hurricane and the effect it had on Jamaica, also about the Hurricane distribution.
If you are a true comrade, you would not withhold your vote. Every vote is needed. One thing is sure, with or without your vote the PNP is going to win.

"it is about the PNP winning again."
Wrong! This is why the PNP will lose tomorrows elections...its about choosing the set of candidates that can best run the country. You comrades have been so blinded by arrogance after being in power for so long that rather the "change course" to build a better Jamaica you hide behind the fact that your leader is a woman. This despite the fact that most indicators show that sh is, in fact, a poor leader. Have any of you been to her constituency, are you even aware of the facts behind current issues, or is it all spoon-fed Propaganda?
DONT vote for the JLP or PNP blindly.
VOTE WISELY!

PM gets improved rating on Forbe’s list of powerful women
Friday, 31 August 2007
Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller has again been ranked in Forbes Magazine's annual List of 100 most powerful women in the world.
There has an added plus for the Prime Minister in this year's listing as she has been given an improved ranking.
Mrs. Simpson Miller is ranked 81 up from 89 when she was first included last year.
Once again, she is the only woman from the Caribbean and Latin America on the list.
The index is based on media visibility, influence and economic impact.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel topped the list with US Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice placing fourth.
The Queen, among only three UK women listed, rose 23 places to 23, partly because of the length of her reign and her increasing media favourability.

I am APPALLED at the fact that the achievements of our leader and Prime Minister has again been deliberately ignored by the media.
Yesterday at about 5:00 p.m. I read on RJR’s website that our Prime Minister has again been included on the Forbe’s list of powerful women, in fact getting an improved rating.
Oh, here’s a copy of the RJR’s article. However by 10:30 p.m. I had to search to find the article again. The Gleaner, in today’s online edition, has not only mentioned the Forbe’s list of powerful women, but has even included a picture of German Chancellor, Angela Merkel; yet they have not even mentioned our Prime Minister. Had I not been lucky enough to get a glimpse of the RJR article, I would have been left wondering. As for the Observer, they have stayed clear of the Forbes list altogether. I find this behaviour so annoyingly disgusting!!!!!!!
The media is definitely playing a psychological war against Portia and the PNP. For many of these journalists if they could use an eraser and erase anywhere her name appears in a positive way, they would quickly do it. Gosh! How can anyone play so unfairly???????? Where is their committment to ALL JAMAICA???????
Comrades, let us reject the media's unfair play.
On Election Day, September 3
Put your X beside the Head
VOTE FOR PORTIA AND THE PNP.

Mrs Simpson-Miller is a nice lady, however the Job of Prime Minister is beyond her capablities. Running a country is serious business. A leader must possess a high level of management skills and this is clearly lacking in this lady. I would give her an orphanage to run..... but a country, i think not.
vote wisely!!!!!!!!!

People, see what I am telling you!
Labourites continue to diss our Prime Minister, and by so doing are being disrespectful to all of us women.
Should the JLP win this election, the only use they will have for us women is to be baby-mothers, care-givers, and domestic-help. They think that is all we are capable of doing.
But Labourite Bway, Dunkley, guh back whey yuh come from....causen sey if is orphanage or patty-shop, SISTA P will manage it an turn it into a shrine.

Clarendon Girl: You have left out something very important. Have you forgotten the "Bruck Rock Stone" business. The last time the labourites were in power the only form of employment they could offer wa "bruk rockstone" under the leadership of Pearnel Charles. I am very confident that the jamaican people are going to RISE UP & REJECT them once again, sending bruce into retirement similarly to Papa Eddie.
Let us KEEP the COURSE & the Faith. VICTORY IS AT HAND ONCE MORE, THIS TIME FOR PORTIA & THE PNP.

Hi there! I missed you on YouTube! Please, please, whatever you do, don't say people are dissing Portia for being a woman. Why should that come into it? One thing I have always found funny is that the Labourties have consistently dissed the PM by feeding us a daily diet of degeneration. Here is my point. The majority of people in Jamaica look like, speak like Portia and identify with her. Yet each day the woman is ridiculed. The same Labourites are depending on the same set of people to entrust them with power and incompetence. So in essence the JLP is saying "look niggas, you are not capable of ruling yourself. Look at how you dance on the stage. Look at how you have poor speech. You don't have a big shot degree in Economics etc and so you are incapable of ruling yourselves. Give us the economy and your welfare to manage and all will be well". Bullcrap if you ask me...when the little man realises that he is not forgotten in the cold and that he can buy a house and a car and live comfortably, JLP won't stand a chance!

I agree wholeheartedly with you Princess. The only reason most people don't like Ms. Portia is because she is not as intellectual as they think she ought to be. A formal education can only say what is to be done but only common sense can make you do what is to be done. I don't see how Bruce Golding could be a better leader than Mrs. Miller, who gained her experience under the likes of Mr. Michael Manley and is now being guided by Mr. P.J.N. Patterson. Bruce Golding is only hungry for power. He's only trying to make a name for him self. Edward Seaga is the same one that call we monkey and all kind a name just because we black. An old proverb seh " Parson christen fi him pickney fuss." Portia is one of us so she cares about us. Bruce is from high society so he cares about them. I hear one of di hungry gut labourite dem talk bout how if ordinary ppl could rule di country, den she should go and do it. Mi woulda like fi know if Portia inna politics fi ova thirty years if that is not experience enough and yes we all have the potential to take care of ourselves. We don't need nobody from nowhere else fi come tell we how fi run wi ting. All JLP know how fi do a run behind America.
Look here---- Put your X beside the head! Vote fi di PNP!!

'when the little man realises that he is not forgotten in the cold and that he can buy a house and a car and live comfortably' How much longer does the little man have to wait? It's been 18 years so far and the little man is now less able than ever to even feed his family! Plus, why does Portia let the little man be treated so brutally by the police? Why doesn't she do something about it? She should have 'walked the walk' instead of thinking that all she had to do was talk!!

You are very correct in stating a lot of Labourites AND PNPs ridicule Portia, and rightly so. I'm not ashamed to say that. The woman can barely string together a few sentences that make sense.
Keep in mind she has to go to the UN etc and represent Jamaica... why in hell then, would we not want someone who can do so in an articulate manner?
I cannot understand how you guys have not noticed that we should be reaaaaaaaaaallly embarrassed by the state of Jamaica right now. Every other Caribbean country has grown in the past twenty years, except for us and Haiti. That's ridiculous. The PNP has sold everything of value to other countries. Why should the very biscuits that I eat come from Trinidad?
You say she should get the job becaues she looks and acts like the majority of Jamaica. That's the most lame reason I've heard thus far, and believe me, I've heard some pretty lame lines of thought. Would you want the doctor who looks and acts most like you to diagnose and treat your illness, or would you just want the most educated one to do so.
I live for the day when politics isn't decided by race and socioeconomic background to such a huge extent.
I'm not even saying this because I am happy the JLP won... I'm saying it because I'm happy that Portia won't be "running" the country. Believe me, if Phillips had been at the head of it I would be indifferent as to whether the PNP won or not, but right now I'm just elated!!

totally agree with you , i am sick and tired of these idiots saying they want portia in because "she look like wi an talk like wi" the same people would not let a doctor tear their spleen open , unless they thought he was well trained, well educated, but somehow the qualifications to be prime minister is "if u look an talk like wi ,u qualified " the pnp are funny.

I have to praise the PNP for its strategy. They are working against the "Man a Yaad" Audley Shaw it is not even funny! Basically what is apparent to my naked eye is this. They want to get Shaw out of his seat so if, and that is a big IF, the JLP wins, the Jamaican population would be spared the incompetence of Audley Shaw as the Minister of Finance as one has to be elected to be the MOF. Good going. Anyway, I have already made my plans that if the JLP ever wins, the factory workers alone will have to stay and help them pay back that big loan to either IMF or WB...whichever one they say they are taking out loans in my name from. I won't be staying here to pay back any multilateral loans whatsoever, so I hope Missa Stewart, Lee Chin etc can help him! I am going to help build up someone elses economy!

Congratulations to the Prime Minister! Mrs Simpson-Miller is a nice lady and I would have voted for her had the elections been held last year, but events since have shown that she has not brought any fundamental change to the direction of the country. There is still glaring lack of accountability in government.

Why after 31 years of Portia's undying love is her constituency so stink? Some of the stinkest gulliies and junkyards are in her constituency. Is that what 31 years of love is about. People talk about Portia's LOVE, but where is the evidence of it? Just because she says so?
Portia does not understand the issues affecting the progress of the nation. I don't want somebody as PM who may be easily tricked or misled. We need someone to ask the right questions and analyze tough situations on our behalf. Smart people will exploit us, as long as they get pass Portia. The world is not simple like Bustamante days. There are many people who would love to have 3 million black Jamaicans slaving away for them. We need someone who can see the tricks from a mile away.
Can Portia have a serious discussion with any of her Ministers, Bureaucrats and Policy Advisors? People like Paulwell, Omar, AJ Nicholson, Pickersgill would full her head with crap. Bad to Bad, them couldn't trick PJ and do what them like with people money. That's why Portia couldn't say where the money for free health care came from. She was told but she never understood what they were saying to her. That means them could move a billion dollars, then fool her, while she just smile and nod.Comment (1)

Let us all realise what we are up against here.
Let us not curse the Labourites for having foudn their way on our website. Realise that this is a blog - an open blog at that and they have been making sure that they spread their word.
Take it as an opportunity to convert them and shwo them the way.
congratulations on forming the blog.
Can we realise that Monday is near and we have lots of work to do rather than play on the ignorance of people who want to bash political leaders.
The PNP has a plan - the PNP has played a vital role int he development of Jamaica and the Caribbean.
Can we all please .. be more civil and put aside the bashing. Let us have a peaceful election ... before and after.
Finally, congrats Portia on moving up to 81 ... all the best Monday .. see you at HQ.

The problem with the PNP is that all the things that they have done cannot be given a grade better than 45-50%. In 18 years the PNP has not done one thing properly .....everything is half-baked and poorly functional. If there was one thing, one project, one policy, that I could reflect on and say EXCELLENT...above 80%....I would vote for the PNP, no matter Portia's faults.
I am so sorry that the only time I voted it went to the PNP. Because now I think that people who vote for the PNP must have a self-esteem problem, low standards for themselves... But then two years ago I was told that low expectation was the natural outcome when the national psyche of an uneducated people has been corralled by the experience of slavery. Could that be true? Jamaica needs to be helped out of the Cycle Of Ignorance that the PNP, moreso than the JLP, feeds on. Will Marcus Garvey Ever Come Again?

It is extremely sad that majority of my fellow comrades are unable to think objectively and rationally. If the PNP has taken on to itself the, 'Not Changing No Course' slogan (which by the way in proper english actually means they are changing course) and then claim that Portia is the change is most disconcerting and a worrying trend about the direction that this noble institution founded by Norman Washington Manley is heading. Something must be done as soon as the next Conference to REMOVE CDE Leader, PM Portia Simpson-Miller from the post of President as she is clearly unable to manage the party and by extension a country.
BTW, #13.1, the word should actually be spelt: hal·lu·ci·na·tions.
Do The Right Thing On Monday, September 3rd, VOTE FOR THE JLP OR DON'T VOTE AT ALL!

i am a "brown man" who know i'am black. the jlp wants to share up jamaica between rich brown man (who think them white), set wage low, employ many in factories like vaz and pay minimum wage. PNP FREED up jamaica to the majority with leaders who look and talk like the majority. But like you, JLP think them black and fool like them leader/s. GOD...put PNP back for my black brothers.

NO MORE WAS POLICE BRUTALITY EVIDENT IN THIS COUNTRY THAN WHEN SHEARER SAID TO THE POLICE- ABOUT DEALING WITH MY BLACK BROTHERS AND SISTERS- "SHOOT FIRST ASK QUESTIONS LATER" OR WHEN DURING THE 1980'S GAS CRISIS THE THEN JLP ADMINSITRATION UNLEASHED THE ARMY AND THE POLICE ON CIVILIANS. I HAVE LIVED THROUGH BOTH GAS RIOTS - THE JLP USED STATE TERRORISM THE PNP USED NEGOTIATION GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT LABOURITES. THE LABOURITES' COMMENTS CAN EASILY BE IDENTIFIED THROUGH POOR GRAMMAR AND VULGAR SPEECH; A CLEAR INDICATION THAT FOR THEM FULL BELLY COMES BEFORE EDUCATION. COME SEPTEMBER 4 MANY OF YOU THROUGH LACK OF AMBITION AND FREENESS MENTALITY WILL STILL NOT MAKE USE OF THE MANY OPPORTUNITIES PROVIDED BY THE PNP ADMINISTRATION. CONTINUE TO OPPOSE IT IS WHAT YOU DO BEST.

It's all about the woman...its about time a woman run this country. One time in India we had Ghandi; in Israel we had Bolder; in England we had Thacher, and down here in Jamaica we all want Portia. She cares and she dares to tell others when they are not playing fair. She is for the poor, she will open many doors, she brings peace, love and justice galore! Now when it comes to smart I love them heaven. Like Portia, no one is better to manage your budget. Jamaican women know how to save and how to spend, and that's why at this time I think Portia is heavenly sent! She is for me and she is for you, and she's loved by many here in Jamaica and abroad, except for a few. She is for the young and she is for the old, and with her Jamaica has just won another Gold...For the full words please visit
http://www.pnpjamaica.org/Songs/mp3/Portia/WomanWiWant.mp3 on the PNP website. The later today make the righgt choice and do the right thing. Vote for Portia and the PNP, put your X beside the Head.
One love, one heart.

To Mama P. I just want to tell you that you'll still are a champion to many of us ladies. Ignore your detractors. you are a female and you have achieved what many of them will never. So let all the chatter swirls around. tomorrow you'll still be the head. And if not I am one PNP for life!!

Portia found out the hard way that the majority of Jamaicans won't vote for an incompetent person simply because she's female, and thank God for that. Her whole platform was based on her being a woman.
Big deal. There are 3 billion women in the world... come with something else like telling us how you're gonna make the country better.

Look what Daddy Manley party come to!
Bunch of arrogant, contemptuous and corrupt fraudsters. Posers all, just looking to stroke their egos.
I hope Bruce with his new found nationalism can restart REAL national development and build the nation from the bottom up.
Too much vulture capital investment posing as progress while Jamaica is being fleeced. Look at JPS/Mirant.
Daddy Manley must have been rolling in his grave.

go and find your daddy and roll with him - in the gutter...
Once again Norman Manley's party has brought Jamaica to a place where labourites would and did kill to take it over (first Indepandence and now this progress)...
Bruce has no plan of his own, he just made it up as he went along...Many people (like you) voted for him because he paid them with corporate people's money and they/you don't even know the difference between progress and foolishness... They paid you to vote to keep them in power - ha ha - what a missed opportunity, just when the last of those who came in on the ship were about to get the chance to step up...But God in His wisdom knew that you had to be taken back to a place where you could remember where you are coming from...
Now humble yourself, spread out like a floor mat and let high-up labourite walk all over you low-down high-up...

pnp-for-life,
within a year, your propaganda will be exposed for what it is-Total Rubbish.
What Comrades, and some bad-mind labourites, fear most about Bruce Golding is not his victory at the polls, but his success as Prime Minister. HIS SUCCESS WILL MEAN THAT ALL OF YOU ARE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF HISTORY. You are the Governor Erie's of this time.
